In the early spring of 2020, a survey of invertebrate species was conducted at four sites in Wireless Hill Park by a specialist assisted by volunteers from the general community and environmental students. Over three days and nights, over 400 invertebrate species were collected, photographed, identified and documented in a report almost 200 pages long.
We need to know more about these wonderful and amazing creatures. Some of the flora species including our native orchids rely on them to pollinate them. Additional surveys are needed in seasons when different species emerge, particularly in early summer and in autumn, just after the first rains.
